Is the 2015 Ford Mustang Coming to India?
Jan 29, 2014 - 11:46 AM - by ForgetMeNow
When Ford released its 2015 Mustang global launch regions map, a noticeable omission was India, especially since the Mustang will be headed to both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Obviously the question here is, "Why not India?"

New information on this front comes from Raj Nair, Ford global chief of product development. He told the India Times, "We have lots of fans of the Mustang in India." Moving into India would also make sense given the behaviour of other automakers, like Porsche, Ferrari and Maserati, who all have already moved into the country. Indeed analysts feel that auto sales will only increase as the Indian economy continues to grow, despite some lack of infrastructure like good roads.

“The right-hand version will enable us to provide the Mustang to a lot of new markets. India sure is a right-hand market,” Nair added, declining to say when Indian imports will commence. “We cannot speculate on this now.”

The 2015 Mustang is going to be in global dealerships in the fourth quarter of this year. That means that India won't be seeing the Mustang until at least 2015.

What do you think is holding back Ford from bring the Mustang to India? Seems like Ford would be a fool to not sell the Mustang in India.

Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Drive to begin in Oklahoma
Jan 28, 2014 - 10:57 AM - by mr.smith
The Mustang 50th Anniversary drive will begin from Norman, Oklahoma on April 13. Groups will drive over four days and will make four stops on their way. There are two destinations, each with their own pit stops.

The group heading to Las Vegas will stop in Amarillo, Albuquerque, and Flagstff, while the riders headed to Charlotte will stop at Little Rock, Nashville, and Asheville.

“The official Mustang 50th anniversary celebration will kick off in the middle of the country so people can enjoy these pony cars as they were intended to be used, ‘on the road,’” said Ronald D. Bramlett, executive director of the Mustang 50th Birthday Celebration. “We believe this will be the largest group of Mustangs traveling together in the world.”

Is anyone interested in doing this? Could be a lot of fun to drive in a huge caravan of Mustangs across the middle of the country.
