The art of camouflaging the 2-15 Ford Mustang

Coming up to the big reveal of the 2015 Mustang Ford did an amazing job of keeping the pony car under wraps. Understandably, it took some pretty intense camouflage experts to keep the 2015 Ford Mustang a secret.

I love how the camouflage experts talk about the auto paparazzi. Apparently they are sneaky and without morals just like celebrity paparazzi -- hiding in tall grass, behind bushes, and even flying over top of test tracks some times.

“Before a single one of these test vehicles is allowed to leave the prototype plant, a camouflage package is developed and must be approved by the design, engineering and test track safety departments,” said Al Wilkinson, Ford camouflage coordinator. “With all of the camo in place, even a good photograph should not give away the design details of the new car.”

I know some car makers even build up specific area's with more camo to throw people off by changing the shape of things. Pretty cool to see the behind the scene's about this stuff.

well I'll be honest the camo was dam good

we had no idea what the car looked like up until it was revealed.

if it wasn't for those renderings which were probably based off insiders leaking info out on the design.. we would know nothing.
