run power active "did i buy a lemon?"

hello everyone,

i recently purchased a 15 50th gt. ive had it a month now and it only has 800 miles. at 700 miles it stranded me on the high way. while going about 80, the dash said run power active and cut out. i was able to pull over on the shoulder and start it back up. but the transmission would not engage. i ran it in every gear, d, r and even all the gears in s, but nothing. so it got towed to the dealership and a new torque converter and oil pump was installed.
an hour later it cuts out on me while taking a sharp turn and a couple times more before i was able to make it to my house. every time it before it cuts out it displays the run power active message. does anyone know anything about this?

I have a 2015 Mustang Gt Premium Performance Pack with the same issue. We had the Roush Supercharger install by the dealer when purchased new. Today whiles in heavy traffic, run power active flashed up on the display, the car cut off whiles driving. My wife was driving. She said the seat started sliding back which pulled her away from the brake pedal. She almost couldn't get it stopped. After getting to the side of the road, she able to get it restarted after pressing the start button a couple of times. Did you ever figure out the problem with yours. I am finding very little info on the problem.

Have you all learned anything since them from the dealership? Anything that other members should be aware of?

Ford May Have Lost A Loyal Customer

I've had the same "run power active" notification on my brand new 2015 Mustang GT with no resolution from Ford.

I originaly got in a fender bender on October 24th. The police officer said I was probably going 10mph or less when the accident happened based on the damage done to my car and the other that was involved.

I had my car towed to the dealership I purchased the car from, Peoria Ford here in Arizona. They stated they did not do body work so I was reffered to Premier Coach Works. They had my car from October 25th to November 20th. Everything seemed to be fine until my car cut out multiple times, almost causing multiple accidents just trying to get my 7 year old daughter and I home safely the night of pick up.

I called Premier Coach when I got home, around 7:30pm. Kody called me back, very concerend but more than willing to help. He stated I should bring my car back to the Ford dealership and they should be able to help.

I brough the car back in that Monday, November 23rd, 2015. The dealership has had my car since and has not been able to resolve the issue. I was dealing with Nathan, one of the servicemen. They thought it was something to do with the ignition and tried replacing a part (unfortunately i forgot the name). Since the Ford Certified Master Technician was unable to correct the issue, the next step was to have a Ford Certified Engineer come out to look at the problem.

Thankfully Kody at Premiere Coach has taken car of the cost for my rental until today. Ford has refussed to help with a rental car and would not provide a vehicle from their dealership.

I also spoke with the service manager, Keith, who asked me to explain the story again as I was a little irritated that Ford has not been able to solve the issue and I have been out of my car for well over a month. During my explanation he asked if I thought the "run power active" issue could have caused the accident. I stated that it may have, it may not. I am unfortunately ignorant when it comes to the computer system installed on my car.

Because this was said, Ford Customer Service Manager Leroy Smith at 866-631-3788 ext: 77773 advised me to seek an attorney and to have my attorney as well as my insurance company work with the Ford Office of General Council. All repair on my vehicle has come to an abrupt hault.

I am completely at a loss and can't begin to believe how Ford has handled this issue. My grandfather worked and retired from the Ford plant in Dearborn, MI. My first car was a Mustang and I have had 4 since. Being as loyal to Ford as I have, I hope this doesn't happen to any other loyal Ford enthusiast.

Hello I am going through the exact same thing and I'm at a loss. With me being a female and the only person that has experienced this when driving my mustang I can obviously tell that my explanations of the power active mode situation and getting stranded on a busy freeway is not taken seriously and finally I had a male cousin in the car with me and he witnessed this happening and vouched that I am in fact not crazy that the car was In fact displaying the power active mode on NFL the car engine would abruptly shut off. With that happening the windshield wipers where going crazy and lights were all flashing. The car is only five months old and I afraid to drive it this is my husband and my own vehicle needs we have barely started paying for this car that is going to end up costing us dam. Near $42k and nobody will help us. Please if you could please help me in anyway with your ituation and how you did or are dealing with this same issue. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you Stacey

Hey All,

This just happened to me as well.

I was driving, turned left, shift to neutral before a very large bump, the car turned off and the dash read "Run Power Active".

I took it to the dealership, they called me back and said,"Did you fill your tank up RIGHT before this happened?"

I answered in the affirmative and they said,"We thought so. Your purge valve is faulty."

They're going to replace the purge valve and they say this will fix the problem.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Is this something with happening with automatic trans cars, manual trans cars or both? And has a resolution to the problem been identified yet? Hasn't happened to me, but I want to be prepared in case it does. This sucks.
